Privacy Policy
Effective date: August 24, 2026 · Version 2026-08-24
comparemyloan.com is a website and service operated by Automatic Lender Inc. (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy explains, in plain English, what information we collect when you use comparemyloan, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. It's written to match what the product actually does — not a generic template.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Email address — how the monitoring service reaches you.
- Phone number — only if you opt into SMS alerts. (SMS is currently disabled, so today we don't collect phone numbers.)
- Loan details you enter — approximate mortgage balance, current or quoted interest rate, years remaining or loan amount, property ZIP code, property type, and any points quoted to you.
- Calculator inputs — the numbers you enter in our calculators stay in your browser until you sign up; before that, we record only the fact that a calculator was used, not the numbers.
- Communications — emails or messages you send us.
Information collected automatically
- Device and usage data — IP address, browser user agent, browser timezone, the page URL you're on, and the page that referred you.
- Advertising attribution — campaign parameters on the link you arrived from (utm_* parameters, fbclid, gclid), Meta browser identifiers (_fbp/_fbc), and the Google Analytics client id when present.
- Session and visitor identifiers — random identifiers we store in your browser's localStorage/sessionStorage so we can tell visits apart. These are first-party only: we do not set third-party advertising cookies. Ad-platform pixels that load on our pages may set their own identifiers, governed by those platforms' policies.
What we do not collect
We deliberately keep the data footprint small. We do not collect Social Security numbers, dates of birth, bank account credentials, tax documents, pay stubs, government IDs, or credit reports — and we never pull your credit.
How we use your information
- Provide mortgage monitoring and calculate illustrative savings.
- Maintain your mortgage profile and identify potential refinance or comparison opportunities.
- Send service updates about your monitoring.
- Operate, secure, and improve the product.
- Analyze how people move through the site (funnel analytics). Our analytics event logs contain no contact information.
- Measure whether our advertising works.
- Comply with law.
- Connect you with participating lenders — only when you affirmatively ask us to.
When lenders see your information
We do not provide your mortgage profile to participating lenders merely because you sign up for monitoring. If you later ask comparemyloan to obtain or facilitate lender offers, we may share the information needed to respond to that request.
In other words: signing up means we watch your mortgage and write to you. A lender only enters the picture when you ask for offers, and only then do we share what's needed to respond to that specific request.
Service providers we rely on
Like every online service, we use a small set of infrastructure providers. Each receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Cloud hosting — Microsoft Azure. Our servers and database run on Azure, so all data described in this policy is stored there.
- Email delivery — Mailgun. Receives your email address and lead details in order to deliver service notifications to you and to us.
- Advertising measurement — Meta Conversions API. Receives a SHA-256-hashed (scrambled, one-way) version of your email — and phone and ZIP code where present — along with IP address, user agent, and Meta browser identifiers, used to attribute signups to ads.
- Advertising measurement — Google Analytics 4 Measurement Protocol (only if enabled). Receives the Google Analytics client id plus non-identifying event data.
- Advertising measurement — OpenAI ads conversions (only if enabled), for attribution of ad-driven signups.
Market rate data flows the other way: we retrieve published mortgage rates from the FRED / Freddie Mac API, and no user data is sent to it.
What we never do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not share your information with data brokers.
- We do not send your mortgage profile to lenders without your affirmative request.
Your rights and choices
You can request a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or opt out of marketing at any time — use the form on our Your Privacy Choices page, email sales@automaticlender.com, or write to the postal address below. Depending on your state, you may have additional rights under state privacy law; we honor access, correction, deletion, and opt-out requests for everyone, regardless of whether a particular statute technically applies to us or its thresholds are met.
To protect your information, we verify requests by confirming you control the email address on file before acting on them.
How long we keep data
We keep your lead and monitoring records while your monitoring relationship is active, and afterward only as long as needed for legal, security, and compliance purposes. When you ask us to delete your data, we honor the request as described on the Your Privacy Choices page.
Children
comparemyloan is not directed to anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
Changes to this policy
When we change this policy, we'll post the new version here with a new effective date and version. If a change materially affects how we handle information you've already given us, we'll give notice on the site or by email where practical.
